Title: Calling all skiers... who's been skiing in Italy .....?
Post by: Eccie on January 03, 2013, 03:44:43 pm
We want to take our 10 yr. old skiing for the first time, he has had 3 days practice on an indoor slope & loved it. Mum & dad have skied for about 10 years (my wife's been going downhill for years !!!!) but nothing in the last 8 (kids who have them!!)

Looking for recommendations for Italy (just fancy it), looking at going 23/3 so will need to be a high resort, family orientated (don't want loud bars all night long) open minded to other resorts just want nice motorway skiing, am lessons for the lad & afternoon skiing as a family.

Would prefer something half board for ease, don't like roughing it

Suggestions please..........

As an option... we went to St wolfgang a few years back (first trip skiing) and the slopes there are dead easy... perfect for beginners and kids.

Worth looking into... might be a bit cheaper than italy too.

Sestriere has some nice wide blues just above the main village, nightlife is ok, not booming, were there in march 2012, one of the highest resorts in Italy at over 2000m

I can thoroughly recommend Bardonecchia, been 3 times. Also done Caspoggio, Santa Caterina, Aprica & Molveno. All superb.

Passo Tonale, perfect for him... plenty of runs for newbies and inter's with only a few black runs.... very little night life... I think in total there was 3 bars and one of them only sold coffee

Put up a post of what you require on here. You don't have to be a member or anything, you just need to give an email address.

Write what you want, where you want, when and how much you want to pay. All the local small hotels and chalets are on the forum and they'll get back to with their offer.
