Yeah just wondered if anyone knew him through the forum...to see if the figures are estimated or fact.
Doesnt seem to have as much as Jonnyc or Hurdys car done to it and they aren't hitting below 12 seconds on the 1/4 mile.

Its one thing typing in your weight and power figures into a 1/4 mile calculator on the internet and its another actually going out there and doing it..
I would put good money on him not even dropping into the 12's..
Also, 1240kg? Mine is 1225kg and looks just a little more molested than his.. lol
Im calling BS on the weight and 1/4 figures..

1/4 mile 11.98 - I don't think so with the weight quoted. Weight would need to be more like 1037 kg. I think we would have all heard if this had been acheived for real, don't you?

Also, his claimed top speed of 176 mph = BS!
He might have seen that on his speedo but never on a GPS system which is far more accurate.

a 0-60 time of 4.8 seconds wouldn't give him an ET of anywhere under 13 seconds!!!!

Ha, nice find mate.. :happy2: If it was 0-100mph in 11.8 secs then yeah, but no way 1/4 mile.. Mine did 11.1 0-100mph when I did a 13/2 1/4 mile run...
NIce to see another enthusiast about and suprised if he isn't on one of the VAG forums, as he's good a good taste in mods.. :wink: Just a bit enthusiastic on his figures me think.. :grin:

The pics on my Fb site are for purely for me and my friends - im not 'boasting' about anything! Ive been playing around with VAGs for years but i obviously dont take it as seriously as you guys!!! GET A LIFE! For some one to stalk my facebook - copy extracts from it then chat about it on here is very wierd!? Dont you think?
The figures run are the best to my knowledge, the 176mph top end was recored on my road angle and the weight of the car was done on a friends weight bridge at his lorry depot! I dont care what web sites say - that is the accurate weight of an Edition 30.
The car was running Hankook full race slicks!
Any more questions?????????????????????????????
Yes my edition 30 is now toast due to a hub failure - so on a serious note- anyone who has a car with more that 40k on the clocks - i would replace your hubs asap! They will fail as one of mine did!
And yes i do now have an elise with an edition 30 engine running stage 2+ spec and a new S3 also running stage 2+ spec.
So if any of you guys would like to see a sub 10 sec quater mile please let me know when your next geek meet up is and i will gladly show you!

That's just what I've gathered along the grape vine, please correct me if I'm wrong.......

Hmmm.....Too much of a sweeping statement to say that all hubs over 40k will fail (Hoping I'm not tempting fate around The Ring!). What about the factor of how much power he's been subjecting those hubs to? I appreciate any heads-up though.

As far as I know Owen Developments did the motor and mapping for that car?
FSI is a different story though, to run the MED9 ECU you would have to run the stock clocks etc.. Straight forward enough really, and as far as I know there is only one stand alone engine management solution out there at the moment that works off the shelf with the 2.0T FSI engine..

Something to do with the variable voltage required to run the fueling system, dont know exactly what or why but all I know is that everyone I have spoken to about it says its a massive ball ache, and the MED9 is powerful enough to do 'most' things if you have enough control over the ECU..
1.8T is a great engine, but for sure the FSI motor is a step forward.. Motec are just about to release an piggy back M800 style ECU for our cars I think.. That will be very interesting..
Anyways back to the topic..

With a 1/4 mile time in the 9's with 350bhp, you are looking at a seriously light car - all up 600kgs sounds about right for mid 9's...

Chris - The elise will run under 10 secs im very confident of that! Will get some pics up wen i know how to? The car will be running stock ECU - minus trhe clocks - with revo defeat!
Driven the 1.8t conversion previously in 280bhp form and it was rapid, so the TFSI lump should be even better!
Serious warning about the hubs tho - ppl on here can mock me all they want but its a very real problem! I know of three cars already that have shared the same fate! Heed my warning!!!!

Where exactly did the hub fail? Did you manage to get any pictures? And did VW have anything to say about it.. Pretty scary!
