Title: How do you clean a catch can?
Post by: tommygti on January 04, 2013, 02:03:24 am
I have a bsh catch can. How would you recommend cleaning it fully rather than just draining it. I do not want to use any chemicals that will damage the engine as the vapour is returned to the crankcase from the catch can.

Get some of this.  IMO Best oil and general cleaner I've ever used, evaporates off and leaves no residue.  Been using it on engines for years.

After totally draining mine I rinse/flush it with boiling water then leave it to dry out.

Take the catch can off, drain, then spray brake cleaner into it, shake, drain and repeat.  The cleaner will evaporate very quickly leaving no waiting.
