Title: Mercedes C220 estate runs out of fuel at 1/4 tank

Hi guys my dad has a mercedes c220 52 plate and it runs out of fuel when the gauge says 1/4 and the range says 94 miles left.
Would it be the level sensor in the tank? As i undersand it has two fuel tanks so does it have 2 fuel level senders ?

Any help would be great as the garage he took it too couldnt fix it.

was a recall at one time for new fuel sender units....

Had this problem on a saddle tank on a Audi and it was the pipes inside the tank not transferring the fuel across to the side of the tank that sucks the fuel up so it was reading that it had fuel but it ran out after only half a tank.
