.
Firstly @ 9:00pm - "Tankies: Tank Heroes of WWII" - 1 of 2-part docu about the 5th Royal Tank Regiment.
Followed immediately @ 10:00pm - "Speed Dreams: The Fastest Place on Earth" - 1 of 2-part docu about British motorsport enthusiasts on Bonnevile Salt Flats. Didn't a Skoda do rather well there?
:happy2:

Hehee, spotted those myself and was going to do what you've already done Robin :happy2:
I think the programme at 10pm has the 200mph Skoda doesn't it?

Neil Armstrong - First Man on the Moon is on at 8pm on Beeb2 as well. I missed it first time round but heard it's very watchable...
-
Did anyone catch Millionaire Boy Racers the other night? That was quite a good watch.

....Yes, there's a whole thread discussing it.

Saw these the other day, on the planner for future viewing.

Both those TV progs were great! I'm looking forward to the second parts.
My father served in the 8th Army, Royal Artillery, in North Africa and then went on to fight in Italy, ending up in the liberation of Greece, which is where he met my mother.

Great program (Tank Heroes), really enjoyed that. Some of the stories are unbelievable but probably seemed commonplace during WWII.
The 5th division were legends IMO and to be rewarded with over 3 years non stop combat with 2 weeks leave must have been soul destroying but as mentioned Command couldn't afford to leave the Rats on the sidelines. :notworthy: :notworthy:
Oh and to be issued with condoms as the troops needed their "horizontal relaxation" in the local brothels was pure class!
