people normally  get the gti one as its easy to get hold of but you will need a adaptor to make it fit

one of the exhaust  pipes is smaller so you need a garage to make you a piece of pipe that fits your car and the gti back box

When I cut mine I cut it about 15" from the backbox to remove the centre box and ordered a reducer sleeve off ebay, so it looked like this a bit...!

It was a long time back but they still do them...

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=250882757724

You want a sleeve with an inner diamater of about 65.5mm on one side (for a GTI exhaust) and ~51mm inner diamater on the other (for a 1.9tdi).

These are not perfect long term due to mixing of steel qualities.

A backstreet exhaust place would do all this for not a lot of money either.
