Title: Removing front arch liners prevent rust?
Post by: Scrubadub on January 07, 2013, 04:41:19 pm
I need to remove my front arch liners and leave off the car as the need for ultimate low on bags means they will foul the wheels.
What would be the best product/proceedure to prevent corrosion in the inner arch?

I would give all the arches a good scrub with this http://www.bilthamber.com/surfex-hd
then a few coats of http://www.bilthamber.com/dynax-uc

The only way you will prevent rust on golf arches is to remove the arches themselves!

I'd regularly wax or underseal what is exposed.

Took mine in to Colbournes VW Guildford today, they do NOT replace these when they do the warranty work on the wheel arches, as they serve no purpose, and only cause more problems later in the car's life if replaced.
