Title: GTI's front design and cooler efficiency
Post by: Peskarik on July 06, 2009, 08:29:24 pm
I was just looking at my Ed30's front.
I've been thinking about getting Twintercooler installed (have S3 cooler already in).
I've read the cooler topic on www.golfgti.co.uk forum, where TT says that Twintercooler only covers the bottom 1/3 of the AC cooler.

But if you look at the GTI's front, the middle 1/3 of the cooler area is closed off by the front's plastic. In fact, quite a small part of the coolers are in direct way of oncoming air, and with Twintercooler in, a very small part of AC cooler is actually cooled by oncoming air.

That front design, with the thick middle part, does not seem to be efficient cooling-wise.

Your opinion?

The Twintercooler does cover quite a portion of the A/C, but even on the hottest day we've had over here the cooler works really well. :happy2:
