Title: Rcd310 into a mk5
Post by: gaz b on January 09, 2013, 05:09:42 pm
Hi chaps, just a quickie!

Will a rcd 310 plug straight into a mk5? Also would there be battery drain issues?

Thanks in advance :happy2:

Hi,
I had an RCD310 in my mk5 whilst my RNS was being repaired - wicked bit of kit. wont have battery drain issues if your car has a gateway later than revision K or is newer than (IIRC) 56 plate. my RCD310's sitting on the shelf gathering dust now!

Cheers apples, where is the gateway so I can check it!  :ashamed:

Currently trying to sell my rcd and the potential purchaser wants to put it into his mk5.

The 310 is a big step up from the 210 that came in my transporter. I'm due a van change soon or would be keeping it! :happy2:

Yes above is true , ive just put a rcd510 in my golf on a 57 plate , I had my chassis number checked and its on a 08 build spec and has later gateway so no battery drain
