-
Have you seen it Carlo?
-
Yes mate Effing Awesome Ian :notworthy:

Good because some of Tarantino's recent efforts have been poor to say the least.
-
was going to watch the impossible.... but may just watch this now :happy2:

Django Unchained then.

Django Unchained then.

Can't wait to see this one!!! Apparently there is a scene where dicaprio smashes a bottle And cuts his hand by accident but carried on with out a flinch! And from the pics he was bleeding alot! Enough to have to be stitched up later!!
-
When is this out in the UK?
-
I thought it was out today?! :/
-
18th Jan in UK :happy2:
-
Looking forward to this one Carlo! :happy2:
This is meant the movie that sees Tarantino's return to the big time, I do hope!! It's up for a fair few Oscars and Bafta gongs too.
Even the trailer looks like a Tarantino film
-
Looks class. My plans for next Wednesday are sorted :happy2:
-
Can't wait to see this!
-
Would a girl like this film Carlo?
-
Its more of a mans film being Tarantino, but yeah I reckon. Both Jamie Foxx and Christopher Waltz are pretty good actors and play great roles.
Im sure alot of women will get a bit excited to see Django's butt when he is hung upside down naked. (He's about to get his Tallywhacker chopped off) :surprised:
-
Just finished watching this.
Really good film :happy2:
-
Good film.

I'd give impossible a miss. Nothing special about it other than being based on a true story and being able to make half the women in the cinema cry. A downer film
-
Just finished watching this.
Really good film :happy2:
How? It's not in the cinema yet?

One of the best I have seen for a long time!
-
Good film. Saw it last night!! :congrats:
-
Very entertaining throughout (if a little harsh in places) typical QT, well worth watching this.
-
Watched last night too, long but great film.
The missus loved it too!

....I hate it when a really good movie is too short.

....QT likes to tell it like it is and times could be harsh out there in those days.
Check out this interview with QT: http://www.guardian.co.uk/film/2013/jan/11/tarantino-krishnan-guru-murthy

Do you actually go to the cinema Robin?
-
Do you actually go to the cinema Robin?
....Extremely rarely nowadays, not for years - I'm a saddo who now lives alone and I don't like going to the cinema on my own.
-
It's great particularly when it is nearly empty. :happy2:

Are there any members that live anywhere near you that you could meet up with to go and see it RR, Really is a good film be a shame to miss it as you seem the sort of fella that enjoys a good well put together movie
Just a question... do you know what an MKV file is ? :scared:

No, I didn't know about Matroska aka MKV files. But I'm not sure how it would help me.
Yes, I am the sort of fella who really enjoys movies but most I see are on telly and also I only have Freeview and not Sky TV etc.
There's a movie on BBC4 tonight called "Lebanon" based on a true story of a tank crew - The trailer suggests it's quite a harsh movie though. I'll probably give it a go and can always switch it off if it doesn't draw me in.
The last two good movies I saw recently (on TV) were "Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" original Swedish version and Liam Neeson in "Unknown".

Thought it was good, could have cut 40 minutes out easily.
-
I've got a good copy of it so I'll be settling down to watch it tonight once I've battled with the snow on the way home
-

Bollocks, I have a short attention span as it is. I can't stand films that are longer than they need to be - all of the Lord of the Rings movies spring to mind.

....Then I guess you hate those beautifully art directed Fellini films and especially as they are invariably subtitled.
Who decides how long a film "needs to be"? You could apply the same to music. I suppose it's down to whether the content holds an individual's interest enough but that can be enjoyed, or not, on several levels.

I love a good old LOTR weekend, when you watch all 3x extended movies B2B!!!

Strange deduction. The length of the movie is irrelevant - it's whether it is justified. I just hate filler.
And I'm more than happy with subtitles. In fact my all time favourite movie is La Haine, which is entirely subtitled, and black and white!

I watched the original swedish version recently too (about 2 weeks ago?) was good, also seen the re-make with Daniel Craig prior to original version (enjoyed that also), personally I prefer going to cinema on my own, no woman asking me whats goin on constantly (One of my pet hates, we are watching the same film!!!!) :signLOL:

Thing is with LOR they already cut out so much of it compared to books

I agree. 2 hours is a reasonable length any more and it starts to get a bit tedious unless it is particularily gripping.
-
I'd say it was about 15mins too long. But overall it didn't feel like a 2h 45m movie as its was great :happy2:
-
15 minutes? That's pretty specific!

Lucky the wife and i both love LOTR.
Note: That does not mean we go to conventions dressed as Elves, we are just fans of the books/films.

Yeah bascially cut out the (spoiler) Tarantino cameo scene, with his weird english accent (spoiler) which was about 10-15 mins.
-
Good to hear this is a good film :happy2:
Anything with Christoph Waltz in is worth a watch I found him totally captivating to watch in 'Inglourious Bast###ds' richly deserving of all the awards he went on to win!

I agree totally phil. :happy2:
Christoph Waltz really does steal the show. He is great in Water for Elephants, but Inglorious he was amazing
-
Went to see it tonight. Thought it was absolutely great.
All the reviews I have read have suggested it was too long but I thought it was perfect.
Oh and the bags scene

Oh and the bags scene

Spencer 'Big Daddy' Bennett: [referring to the bag over his head] Damn. I can't see f*ckin' sh*t outta this thing.
Bradshaw: We ready or what?
Big Daddy: Ah hold on, I'm f*ckin' with my eye hole. [tears his bag] Oh sh*t. I just made it worse.
Redfish: Who made this goddamn sh*t?
O.B.: Willard's wife.
Willard: Well make your own goddamn mask!
Big Daddy: Look, nobody's sayin' they don't appreciate what Jenny did.
Redfish: Well if all I had to do was cut a hole in a bag I coulda cut it better than this!
O.B.: What about you Robert? Can you see?
Robert: Not too good. I mean, if I don't move my head I can see you pretty good. More or less. But when I start ridin' the bag's movin' all over and I'm ridin' blind.
Randy: [tearing his bag] sh*t. I just made mine worse. Anybody bring any extra bags?
Terry: No, nobody brought an extra bag!
Randy: I'm just askin'!
Doug: Do we have to wear 'em when we ride?
Big Daddy: Oh well sh*tfire! If you don't wear 'em as you ride up that just defeats the purpose!
Redfish: [ripping off bag] Well I can't see in this f*ckin' thing! I can't breathe in this f*ckin' thing and I can't ride in this f*ckin' thing!
Willard: Well f*ck all y'all I'm goin' home! Ya know I watched my wife work all day gettin' thirty bags together for you ungrateful sons of bitches, and all I can hear is criticize, criticize, criticize! From now on, don't ask me or mine for nothin'! [rides away]
Big Daddy: Now look, let's not forget why we're here. We gotta killer N****r, over that hill there, and we gotta make a lesson outta 'em.
Randy: Okay I'm confused. Are the bags on or off?
Robert: I think, we all think, the bags was a nice idea. But not pointin' any fingers, they coulda been done better. So how 'bout no bags this time, but next time, we do the bags right, and then we go full regalia.
Big Daddy: Wait a minute! I didn't say no bags.
Randy: But nobody can see.
Big Daddy: So?
Randy: So it'd be nice to see.
Big Daddy: Goddammit! This is a raid! I can't see! You can't see! So what? All that matters is, can the f*ckin' horse see! now That's a raid!

Some greats bit of humour throughout

Thank you, Monte! :fighting: That might have been a spoiler but I skipped past it in time fortunately.
