Title: RCD 500 code input
Post by: b16vrg on January 11, 2013, 01:10:07 pm
I finally got round to taking my car to Roys ( Autobarn) to get the new headunit fitted and he put in the code that came with it ( bought it of here) and it went into safe mode so have to wait an hour before I retry!!! JUst tried to contact the seller but no answer yet, but will wait and see. If it is the wrong code what will be my next step? Any information greatfully received :happy2:

You just have to hope that the original owner contacts you with the correct code.

Do remember this is a public forum so such things should be addressed privately by PM or email as what would stop someone who has a stolen headunit just asking here for a code.

OK, so I still havent got round to taking the golf back to Roy to sort out this code problem but had to take the car out tonight ( dont use it often) and it struggled to start even though just had a new battery. As I was driving with the lights on ( just dark) I noticed the red stereo background lights would dim and then just go off and then come back on as normal, even though the stereo is turned off!! They also stayed on longer when I locked the car :stupid:

Any ideas?

Anyone live local-ish to Winchester who's good with stereo's who could help?

It gets spookier!!  Got back from the pub last nite, looked in the car and the red stereo lights ( ie the buttons) were alluminated!

So it seems something is just staying live  :stupid:
