.
Very proud daddy here....
She has been shortlisted to the last 15 in a national sofa textile competition for emerging designers. She is in her final year at Nottingham Trent Uni.

If you have it in your heart, please vote here: http://www.sofa.com/designers-shortlist
More of her designs can be seen here: http://skysioukiprocter.com/home.html including the web site design.
4th February - The panel of 4 judges select the winner.
14th February - The People's Vote closes and the People's Vote winner is announced 18th February.
So I'm happy to say that the award organisers are, in my opinion, acting most fairly and that any popularity I may have (questionable!) is not such a big factor.
Many Thanks! :drinking: - From both of us!

Or did you want pics of her!?
And a big thanks for voting :drinking: - It's very much appreciated by her (and by me as her very proud dad).

Does the vote tally update live as I've just counted around 10+ votes after the one saying he was the 18th and when I went to vote it was still saying Sky only had 17 votes?
-
Well done, both of you :happy2:

I don't think it tallies up live - We should see an update tomorrow.

Likewise, no doubt helped by the fact the British Colonial style is very fashionable at the moment.
I think on the whole the others are pretty disappointing to be honest. There's no real innovation or originality there.
It's a really great area for your Daughter to go into though Robin. I'm lucky enough to have some involvement (via a client of ours) with Designers Guild and Clarke & Clarke and I am continually astounded at how creative their work is.

....Tricia & Robin Guild? I used to be a designer at Osborne & Little in the King's Road, Chelsea, and Designers Guild were opposite. O&L was my first and last job after leaving college and before starting up my own business (with Antony Little's help). I really must get in touch with them, it's been years.
I'll pass on your positive comments to Sky, Andrew - She'll appreciate them. :drinking:

Just voted for Ruth Duggan.... hehe, only kidding (not sure how she's got so many votes)
1 more for Sky :happy2:
-
At the risk of stirring up trouble...
...I don't agree with bolstering up votes with 4/5/6 different email addresses. I can see why Robin has spread the word on the forum (the more people are aware of the competition then the more possible votes) but are people just voting for Sky to help Robin out or do they truly like her design. I personally have voted, Sky's design (and website portfolio) appeal to me but designers should be given a true critique that matches their skill/achievement. For one to recieve an inflated score they may take it to the head/ego and think too much of their work or may see it as a false score and that they don't really deserve to win.
All this aside, I do like the design in question, and have voted. 109 114 122 votes so far, she seems to be blasting the competition away (except 1).
Good luch RR/Sky. :happy2:

....Ruth is on the same course as Sky, so Nottingham Uni must be pleased to have 2 of their students in the final 15 shortlist.
Reading the first few words of your post had me reaching for my Bruce Willis persona.
Thanks for your vote :drinking:

I earlier added this info to my original post:
4th February - The panel of 4 judges select the winner.
14th February - The People's Vote closes and the People's Vote winner is announced 18th February. You are voting for the People's Vote winner.
So I'm happy to say that the award organisers are, in my opinion, acting most fairly and that any popularity I may have (questionable!) is not such a big factor.
Indeed you are completely free to vote for the designer you think best and not necessarily for my daughter Sky.
I personally have nothing to gain from any success my daughter may have but as her father I will naturally do all I can to support and encourage her efforts. I have not asked anyone to vote more than once via different email addresses - It's up to them but does express their eagerness to demonstrate their support and I am very grateful indeed for all support for Sky however big or small - It's ALL appreciated and by Sky as much as by this proud dad.

Although I of course want her to win, having looked at her competitors' work with my Objective Designer Hat on (not wearing my Dad Hat), I think she would be a worthy winner.
Fortunately the main award is being decided by 4 judges and this online People's Vote is separate, otherwise it becomes like X-Factor! Currently she is 5th with 234 votes.
The People's Vote closes on 14th February and every voter has the chance of winning handmade sheepskin-lined slippers, chocolates and cherry brandy.
Please keep spreading the word, folks!
