Hey Guys,
I recently bought the Kenwood DNX520VBT,
I am trying to update it since I got it installed on my R32.
I can not update it, and I can not have the climate control display on the unit.
If anyone please has the exact unit. And updated it because I tried a lot.
Please do not call me stupid, but I need a step by step guidance.
Thanks to everyone even who reads this post, and happy new year to all as well.
Regards,
Mario

Have a look on kenwood site it's got a guide on how to do it.
Also I don't think the climate control will display on the screen it's only the newer cars that can do that and only on the newer kenwood unit

Instructions here
http://www.kenwood.com/cs/ce/mm/firmware/2010/2010c/pdf/10NAV_MM_R_FWverup_en.pdf
Follow them exactly - took me 2 attempts but worked fine in the end.
Check the format of the disc u r using - cd-r worked for me.
As stated the climate function only works with the mk6 and the new 521DAB

Thank you both.
Shab I did find them I just don't know what I do wrong. Thanks though for the suggestion.
Hey Mark, I reckon you have the same unit.
When I unzip the files I just burn them. Then insert the disc and it says DISK ERROR.
I ejected it and then created another one. Still the Update Option wont highlight.
I need to update so I can do the Garmin and Bluetooth because the S2 Galaxy wont function properly.
Mark, how did you decompress the files?
I always get two files.
Thanks again for the answer.

Hi mate
Yeah I had the same unit installed at Christmas.
I had the same issue uploading the firmware on my first attempt but it worked no issues 2nd try.
If I remember correctly I think the issue was not putting the unit in standby mode at the right point - I know the instructions aren't the clearest but they really do have to be followed to the letter.
I still haven't got a clue why mine didn't work first time?!
Yeah there are 2 files when u unzip - both have to be burnt to disc - I just downloaded the download file to my desktop then right clicked and chose the de-compress/unzip option.
It could be the disk type - use a CD-R.
After my attempt I just did a google search on the problem and founds loads of info - didn't save the link unfortunately. Didn't use that info in the end though just tried it again with original instructions and it worked no probs :happy2:

Forgot to mention - check the garmin software version before u try to update it - mine already had the latest version installed from new - there is a newer Bluetooth update than is on mine but my iPhone 4S already worked faultlessly so didn't want to f that up - if it ain't broke don't fix it!
Good luck dude - think I got the info from a kenwood forum so just google it if u still don't have any joy
