Title: Alloy Wheel Offset and Width. Miss Match, Style over substance??
Post by: majinvash on January 16, 2013, 02:47:31 pm
Hi

I am planning in the next few months or whenever my tyres need changing ( from the less than desirable Falken's that are currently on there to Goodyear F1's. ) to getting a new set of rims.

I have been looking at these alloys

(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.cadeswheels.com%2Fimages%2FGolf5-Tyrus.jpg&hash=c15dd783a407286481627abef295ecc2d0596b7c)

I love the idea of having the deep dish 9's at the back and I plan to wrap them in 235 Wide and the front 8's wrapped in 225.

But I enjoy driving the car too much and I am worried that it might make the car feel unbalanced and that I would be better off with getting 8 wide all around with the same off set.

Anyone know the answer to this? Will I loose performance in terms of grip by going for fashion?

Also can anyone recommend or warn me off Cades alloys?

Many thanks

Mat
