Morning all,
Driving to work this morning and after letting the car warm up I tried to use the windscreen washers. No luck. I had a tiny bit of spray come out of the drivers side headlight washer and nothing else! Windscreen obviously became worse as it smeared all the dirt across it, good fun on the M25!
I have an Edition 30 with standard headlights, but washer jets, so I have heated windscreen washer nozzles right?
It was -5C by the way, if that helps.
Only think I can think of is that I don't have enough concentrate in the mix...
Any other thoughts?

More than likely, or a fuse gone, same happened on my headlight washers last year.
This is decent stuff http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Audi-Volkswagen-SEAT-Skoda-Screenwash-1-Ltr-G052164M2-/320911551658?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item4ab7d1acaa
Good to -70*c

I use the same stuff zerolag posted. Once the washer bottle is nearing empty I usualy put ~250ml of the screen wash then top up with water. I do not have the winter pack so have the smaller fluid bottle. No heated washer jets either and sprayers worked fine front and rear at -3 this morning.

Cheers guys, I'll check the fuse later.
That's the screenwash I have, I haven't used enough though I reckon. So a quarter of the bottle (at least) in each fill then, while it's this cold anyhow.

Well it's supposedly good enough down to -70*C neat
(1.0) 1000ml -70*C
(0.50) 500ml -35*C
(0.25) 250ml -17.5*C
(0.12) 125ml -8.75 *C
I use the whole bottle to make up a 5 litre container (-14*C / -17.5*C) and it's never frozen yet... Friday will be a good test!!

i have headlight washers with xenons and generally use 500ml in cold (looks like its going to snow) weather and use genuine VW washer fluid
in summer i would put 250ml in a time and fill it up.
-
Most likely's are already covered so check both, but my MK5 GTI used to do this.
I never worked out what it was but I always used 90%/10% water to SW when filling up. Wondered if that might have been it but a couple of fuses went on it which were replaced anyway, so I think it was one of those indirect fixes that came and went.

How do you know if you have winter pack or not??
-
You would have Heated seats, headlight washers, heated washer bottle and low level warning washer bottle sensor. Sure there was something else.
The headlight washer stuff was standard on cars with xenons. The heated seats were standard on Ed30's.
Also I'm sure them code sticker in the boot would tell if you did or not

Since increasing the ratio of screen wash to water I've had no problems.
Am still going check the fuses just in case.

Good news Adam :happy2:
I could probably learn from this too. During summer, I'm mega tight on the screen wash to water ratio
