HI All,
Just dropped in to say hi, I haven't bought my GTI yet, but am wondering whether it's better to go for an older MK5 with better spec and TFSI or spartan MK6 TSI. Are the TSI a stronger unit? How much can be retrofitted?
What I'd like is: 18in alloys, Steering wheel controls, reverse parking aid and tocuh screen headunit. What do you guys think?

Welcome to the forum :happy2:
If you can afford a MK6 GTI with the TSI engine, it is a much better unit. Nothing wrong with the TFSI, although design flaws like the cam follower were resolved on the TSI.

Thanks :happy2: It would be a stretch but if it's going to be better for longer, then it may very well be worth it in the long run. I've read a bit about the cam follower issue, does this not effect the TSI then?

Welcome mate also from the North West (bolton) :happy2:

No, the TSI has a roller follower
