Title: My Side Skirt does not like ice!! Advice needed??
Post by: MC71 on January 21, 2013, 03:04:26 pm
Over the last 2-3 days I've noticed that one of my Side Skirts has started to come away from where its attached and today its got even worse. I assume its water getting in and turning to ice and expanding and then this happens. Any suggestions as to a fix, am thinking its a body shop thing?? By the look of it the Side Skirt will just come away now if I undo any screws so no problem with getting it off.   Bloody Ice!!  :fighting:

Looks like it will need re-bonding?. No more nails or i think there is something called tiger seal which people have used in the past.

......pleasure mate. :happy2:. One of my last cars did the same, they were held on by a screw/bracket fitment at each end & a strip of double sided tape along the edge. Removed the old tape & used no more nails along the edge & that did the trick.

Best using tiger seal. No more nails dries solid and doesn't flex, where as tiger seal dries like silicone and has a slight flex to it.
