Went and got these this morning from Motorsport Wheels in Leeds, would like to take the front down abit more now but stupid speed bumps just kick that into touch.

What do you all think.

looks mint, without sounding rude are they reps are pukka CH's
-
Very nice :happy2: :happy2: :happy2:
-
-
very nice.. but then again I'm biased.
-
Sorry should of said, yes they are reps but Jason at M/Sport Wheels said he's not seen any that look so like the real thing before, they have all the stamps and model/part number's on. £95 per wheel but the last set from there, they will do until I can go down the real deal route.
Darren
-
very nice. Are they 19s? Gen or reps?
-
sorry just seen that. I bet they are the last set.
-
JPC I can ask him if he can get some more if your interested? worked out at £437 and didn't charge for changing my tyres onto them.
Darren
-
Jay got the set just before you.
Look delicious by the way. :happy2:
-
haha...thanks mate, ive got some genuine 19 CHs.
-
they do look the part, fancy some for the misses Leon :happy2:
-
you can tell they are rep's as the motorsport is stamped on the outside of the dish of the wheel, if it is stamped on the bend inside the wheel they are genuines, if it is stamped almost on the flat part of the wheel they are rep's, they do look the part on your car though, look spot on
-
Nick the motorsport writing is on the bend on mine, Ive looked on the BBS website and looked at them in detail I carn't really tell, although I know there reps and people who look through this post will know :happy2: BUT they do look very good... thanks for everyones comments.

Those wheels look mint!
On the flip side I don't know what others think but I really don't like manufacturers of reps marking their wheels up with all the stamps etc of the genuine article. Its fine to make/sell reps but marking them up as genuine makes it all too easy for people to get ripped off.
-
I know what you mean Dan but as long has no one is trying to pass them off on resale has genuine then I dont see any thing wrong with that,

it depends on the offset where the motorsport is on the originals

Very nice Darren! :happy2:
VC's got a full time job keeping the sigs up to date with us lot!

i have seen these wheels in the flesh and they do look spot on. On the front face, you will struggle to tell the difference from the genuine. They even have the bbs logo on. On the rear, you can spot them a mile off. You are lucky to have got a set of these, trading standards have been onto many places and since shut down a lot of places selling them. Theres guys on ebay selling these as genuine and i whole hearted hate them for that.

No doubt so do BBS for copyright theft and forging their logos.
IMO and please dont take this the wrong way Morty as I respect your freedom to choose, but this stuff is like fake Burberry to me, except a fake Burberry cap isn't possibly dangerous (except as a fashion item).
BBS wheels are made in Germany to TuV standards for safety and I know its been said before that some reps are made in good factories, but how does anyone know what really goes on in these Chinese factories.. especially ones producing replica (fake) goods and not ones that are audited by a legit authority/ or OEM? If the country can't make toys for Mattel or Milk for baby food without short cutting rules and introducing massive health risks for the sake of profit, then what safety/quality measures do we really think are put in place for products destined for the replica / black market?
but each to their own.
-
Mark I respect anyones opinion as long has its not abuse that is  I know where your coming from but im not prepared to pay over £1k for some thing that will still get curbed just the same has what is on my car now BBS or not,
The company that sold these im sure wouln't sell them to the public if they knew for a fact that they where dangerous on the road? Ive seen various different alloys badly damaged by potholes but the only difference is that an original wheel will take more abuse before buckling where has a replica may buckle quicker.
Although at the end of the day its less on my wallet if I damage one ill just go back and buy another set still cheaper than buying a genuine set.
Also how come this is a bigger issue than some one who had bought say some replica RS4/6, R32 or similar alloys??
Cheers

also like the BBS CH look
good going

Fantastic mate, even as reps they look ace.
How much have you got your car lowered? And what springs did you use to get it lowered?
Really want to do it to my set, especially as im going from 17s to 18s shortly.
-
Hi Big Al its on FK Highsport silverline collies wound down at the back but still about 8/10 threads left and front is about 1/3 of the way down on the threads.
Thanks for the comments aswell mate
Darren
-
how much heavier are these to standard wheels?
-
been looking at that celica and someone on audiworld took some weight readings and the reps are 1/2lb heavier so not that much in it. The only down side is that they wont be has strong has the real thing.
Darren

Very nice & one of the reasons i put a set of edition 30 alloys on mine.
