Hi,
I currently have a Renault Megane Trophy, and would like to Part ex it for an Edition 30.
what do you think of this - apart from the fact it is cat D.

Anything I should be particularly careful of, with it being a cat D ?
It looks like it has already had a remap judging by the "280bhp" headline.
Many thanks in Advance

Hey welcome along... goodluck on what ever you decide... The ed30's are the way forward... maybe keep having a look... Check in the cars for sale section on the forum here :happy2:

Looks lovely that mate..

It looks like it's had a front end bump (missing badge, missing splitter and bumper looks a different shade or is that just me?). You want to check it has genuine replacements and that nothing behind it is bent etc. Check the headlight plastic diffusers have the VW emblem.
I recall this garage when I was looking for a car and I'll be honest, just bypassed their ads - some of them were fairly colourful and didn't fill me with confidence.

no badges at back either ??????

They had a 55 plate ED30 when I was looking...
It wasn't a private plate either.

Thanks for your advice all :happy2:
I did wonder about this dealer, I haven't been to see it yet, might pop down this weekend
I thought that CAT D was minor damage, but maybe not in this case

Given the vast choice of good honest ed30s out there I wouldn't touch this one with the proverbial tbh...
Just going off the advert pics, there's the obvious missing splitter, headlight alignment and front wing gaps are way out, something is going on with the ride height as the back is way too high for standard, best avoided as for £1k more you could have this...

Welcome aboard BTW :happy2:

Thank for that Beddie.
Yes I did see that advert, FSH and not too far away from me. But I was thinking of part exchanging my MeganeSport, so that is why I was looking for a dealer, although that is probably not the most cost effective way of doing things.

Few points already mentioned about panael gaps, missing front spliter, drivers seat also looks heavily stained and marked. Two other things people have not noted, rear valance looks mis-shaped and also the OSF alloy is not only heavily kerbed but only has 4 wheel bolts, not 5!!!!
:happy2:

wouldnt go anywhere near that if it was me

Those Renault Megane trophys are ate great drive is it a 225 or 265
-
Thanks for all the tips, I don't think I would have notied half the things that you all noticed. Will give that one a miss
I think I need to absorb a lot more info before I take the plunge.
WolverineMAc - It is a 225 trophy, remapped, so it has about 250BHP

I finally got round to viewing this car yesterday

To be honest I was quite disappointed. The interior was really poor, with lots of wear on the drivers seat, it had the feel of a car that had done a lot more than 66k.
Looked like a big dog had been in the back seat judging by the marks. the plastics in the front also seemed to be scratched and marked.
They were very polite, but offered just over trade price for my Megane (£2k), while not offering any discount for the ED30.
So you were all right  It was one to be avoided.

Im pretty sure that garage have really bad reviews aswell. And also what is up with the rear ride height?!
