As above guys,
Found some wheels im really tempted with,
19x8.5" ET42 Will these be ok on a lowered MK5 GTi.

Depends how low, rear you should be ok, but the front might be the issue.
I was looking into this myself recently 19 x 8.5 ET 45 and decided against it because of the front :sad1:

im not going to go silly low as its the wifes daily driver, 40mm maybe? i like the rim to fill the arch and only show half the rubber if that makes sense?

Then i think you will have trouble, have a look at this will give you an idea

I'm not saying it won't work and someone maybe along to say they've done it, but it sure will be tight with out a bit of front arch work IMO

Thanks for the link bud, Looks like the inners of the arch would be fine but an extra inch up front hmmmm

Looking into this seems a fair few people have done this,
Has any body got any more info or pictures on a GTI on 19x8.5 ET42 lowered approx 30-40m?
