Well, I'm off to Awesome again tomorrow
MAT ED30 noticed that the discs were on the wrong way around and Awesome want my car back to put it right ASAP.
Would you believe it - I've JUST washed and waxed the car too in readiness for Saturday and now I'll be getting it all mucky again!
They'd better be careful with my new alloys too :scared:

its just a cooling thing so you would notice when pushing hard and getting breaks hot :happy2: glad i could help :happy2:

Cheers Matt :happy2:
Yeah, ultimately the brakes would fade a little earlier on track useage. On the road I'd never get them that hot :innocent:

I cook my brakes quite often but that is because they are still VW's VERY VERY poor effort at brakes that came with the car!  I need Hurdy's brakes in my life :rolleye:

Back on topic....
Brakes now are on the correct way around and Awesome dropped her by another few millimetre's
There is literally about 2 to 3mm clearance as I go into and out of the drive now, so she is as low as she's gonna get. :happy2:

Looks mean John :happy2:
-
what reason/ excuse did they use for having the brakes on the wrong way ?
-
....
Hey Steve/Phil !!
If you can get to my place for 7:00am (you are about 1 hour away), you are a most welcome passenger. You can leave your car in my garage.
I have to leave so early because I have to go via Wolverhampton to get my new Monzas back on.
:happy2:
-
looks brilliant John (and youre still a pic whore :happy2:)
-
looks spot on fella and glad you got it sorted :happy2:

Lol,
They looked a bit coy, apologised, said they didn't know how it could have happened and didn't charge me for lowering the car.
The guy who fitted the discs originally was a little rushed as it was late at night and they literally closed the doors as I left. No excuse I know, but in this instance there was no damage done apart from probably a little of their pride in their reputation and a few miles on my clock, for which I had the car lowered as recompense.
-
mind they fitted my ecs dog bone mount incorrectly too. Pattern?

Oh yeah, I remember you saying that you were looking for a soot chucker. You'll love the economy and torque, but unless you go with a DSG the car is only in the power band for 0.000000001 of a second. I know, I've had 2 manual diesels and 2 DSG diesels :happy2:
-
I know what you mean but a 170 TDI DSG is a rare find and I would be worried about having problems with the DSG if I had it mapped. I have had 2 remapped diesel golf's (both manual) and I do like them but like you say the power is all in one shove. Will definately miss my Eddy if it does go
