Title: is it possible to fit an AUX socket
Post by: Saintsteve on January 29, 2013, 08:26:12 am
I currently have an iPod dock installed in the arm rest with my current RNS510 installed in the car.
My understanding is you can't have both an iPod dock( where the iPod sits inside the armrest and works in that respect, and also an AUX jack ( wasn't an option on early 2007 cars ) only on later Ed30's and GTi's.

What's involved in changing one to the other as I would like to connect my Samsung Galaxy Nexus / Note 2 or S3 mobile to use this socket.

Speak to Eddie NL, I know it's possible to have both with the MDI as Eddie had this and mine shows a fault with VCDS as I don't have the aux socket. I think it may be possible with the iPod dock/cd player but he will know for definate :happy2:

Do the adapters work that you can get like Apple 30 pin to micro usb.

You can get them on ebay etc.
