Title: 3 door bucket seats in 5 door?

Hi guys im tony new to the gti scene having just sold my mini cooper s im on the look out for an edition 30 my question is will the 3 door r32 recaro leather interior (buckets) fit into a 5 door car? (also considering gt tdi 140)

help would be greatly appreciated as they are a bit of a bargain!!

welcome to the site--if your doing loads of miles get the diesel but average miles go for the ed 30,but saying all that i do less than 2 miles a day now and still have a diesel :signLOL:

Yes.

I have Recaro seats from a 3-dr GTI in my 5-dr GTI. And although now reupholstered in Mk5 GTI Interlagos cloth they were originally from a Mk5 R32.

Always thought your seats came with the car from new didn't know they were reupholstered

Thanks andy! they look amazing btw! where can i find a fitting guide? couldn't quite work out the search tool  :sad1:

The seats are in Robin's car :happy2:

4 spline bolts in the floor and the seats lift out. Unplug the under seat plugs first though. You may need some airbag resistors or code the airbag warning light out

These are my original seats (out of a Mk5 R32) before reupholstered in Interlagos and fitted in my GTI..........

This shot shows the seat fixing rails (and also the wrapped carbon vinyl backs  :evilgrin: - You won't like that)...........

Youre right i dont like it... i blody love it  :jumping: theres a new glossy carbon fibre wrap out once i get my buckets in the backs are getting wrapped  :happy2:

....Don't forget to show off and post pics of them with the new 4D carbon vinyl wrap when done.  :happy2:

I expect you already realise that you'll need to have the seats out to wrap them.

^ The 3D carbon vinyl looks perhaps more satin rather than matt or gloss.

....Plus it's a VW symbol and R also stands for Robin. And two R's in the car stand for Red Robin  :grin:

Looks apart, the Recaro's are very supportive and comfortable. Easier for your passenger to grab some sleep too.  :happy2:

I fitted some R32 seats to my mk4. These hardly come up for sale tho do they? When the do, £££s!
