Title: fuel gauge stops working

My mate has an 09 scirocco with the 2.0tfsi engine. After 5 mins of driving the fuel gauge will drop to 0, untill he stops and restarts the car and it will do the same again, any ideas? cheers

Can you get the car scanned on VCDS?  Does the car keep running?

the car carries on running fine yes, ive got vcds and i will be going down monday to scan it for him, just wondering if anyone had ideas before then
