Title: RNS510 Firmware Upgrade

I am a newbie here, I've read alot of information and am still a little confused and wanted to update my RNS510.  However I understand that what firmware you upgrade it to, depends on what firmware you already have? Or can I just download the latest firmware for all units as per the tutorial? My car was first registered in November 2007 on a 58 plate if that helps.  I don't have this secret menu when you hold the setup button even for 1 minute, all that shows up is the radio selection AM/FM/DAB.  I've not got a VAG COM or VCDS so any help is much appreciated.

Where are you based? Perhaps someone's with vcds can unlock secret menu for you and read what version canbus you have.
