Finally bought me a gti the other day :happy2:
Coming from a mk1 audi s3 with 257bhp im missing the power but im sure the likes of apr or revo can address this issue for me in the next couple of weeks :wink: But im definitely missing those 4wd launches, god they was good! Anyway everytime i floor it in first i get the awful axle tramp where the front wheels bounce up and down. Has anyone solved this problem? tyres have 7mm of tread, correct pressures and esp is off. Oh i have dsg and the car is on eibach springs if that makes any difference. I expect it to wheelspin but when ive wheelspan other cars in the past they just spin up instead of this awful banging noise that makes me back off. cheers

Uprated the engine mounts - torque link / dog bone one helps but doing all 3 should remove it!

it makes me cringe in mine! I heard that civic type r's are bad for it aswell.

its absoloutly awful, in the S3 in the wet it spins all 4 wheels soo smoothly you could hardly feel it, the only way you could tell is if there was a bit of camber to the road it drifts to the side. Im going to pop to awesome gti tommorow for the dogbone mount thing, if im not too busy i will fit it and report back. Only got the car yesterday and im sick of it doing that already!

Ive had the car a day so still getting used to it and the fact ive come from 4wd when flooring it is fine and its dsg im struggling to find the balance between hardly going anywhere and wheelspinning but im sure i will get it soon. Id rather have it anyway because i polybushed the dogbone on the s3 and it felt so much better.

The amount of times i've seen various cars of all sorts of ages, styles , aspirations and driver age ranges floor it from standing and things going horribly wrong its just not worth it !
It's not about how quick you can get from standing A to stopped B. Its about how you get from A to B to C to D smoothly and enjoyably !

Axle tramp will be worse on bad/crap tyres. As soon as I got Bridgestones on the front of my ED30 it stopped it immediately. :happy2:

I've got Michelin Pilot Sports on. What's it like for all the guys running "stage 2+" specs? Do you get axle tramp in 2nd gear?

Mine are Goodyears so average but my my mate has really good tyres on his scirocco and his does it much worse than my car, only mod to mine is eiback springs, but it doesnt make any difference to the wheel hop in his car if hes got it on sport mode or not, we both bought a dogbone bush anyway but didnt get chance to fit it today so i will report back when there done, might even enjoy a bit of midnight mechanics tonight
