Title: 1st Time Ever considering a remap - Info please (06 plate GT TDI 140 standard)
Post by: bm_99 on February 04, 2013, 12:37:14 am
Hey there people, basically ive got a standard 06 plate gt tdi (140) done about 127,000 miles

Only mods really done to it are sounds but now im really thinking about getting a remap or some sort of tuning done to the engine.

Ive never really had a vehicle remapped or chipped before (not even modded to be honest)

Main questions are:

1) what are my options for remapping or tuning as in who are the best people to go to. Im in the west london area

2) what power increase or even mpg increase would i roughly gain

3) If i am thinking about putting wheels or lowering the car, should i remap before or after this

cheers for any help all

Very nice engines to tune, we have a dealer in West London with a dyno that can tune this for you. Typically you will see gains of 35-40bhp and 50-55ftlb on a mild map. Gains in MPG are typically 10-12%

I had mine done at R-Tech just before Christmas......completely changed the car.
It is quicker but its the lovely midrange pull that I like.

Go for it I say. I can't for one second think that you'll be disappointed.
