Title: TDI to GTI Front End Conversion - Fog Light Problems
Post by: Eccleshall on February 07, 2013, 09:19:29 am
I am going to do a front end conversion on my TDI but have noticed that the fog light sockets are different, how have people got round this?

Cheers

When I had an Xparts bumper it came with GTI 'look' grilles that meant you can use your original fogs.

When I had a genuine bumper I got later GT fogs (same as GTI) then split them, using the GTI fronts with the original rears, so it all mates up. Couldn't tell once fitted.

I changed from reflectors on my GTI for projectors and made my own convertor cables, so have the reverse available..

Don't know if that's what you need?

The brackets are physically different between standard and GTI fogs too

Do you mean , you have hb4 /9006 loom and gti reflector fog bulbs are h11 ? , if so you can buy loom connectors from bold sport as I had too

sent using my own fingers

What I did was buy gti fog lights attach them to the bumper then I cut of the tdi connector and crimped electrical connectors to the two tdi wires and pushed them onto foglight pins making sure the electrical connectors I buy was a very tight fit to the foglights  pins --- I hope this helps
