Title: Turbo issue
Post by: graeme on February 08, 2013, 08:15:32 pm
I have been having issues with the turbo for about a week now. All was fine then accelerating from 60 mph to 70 mph i heard a woooo ing noise. At first i thought it was a intercooler hose. Took them off checked them even bought a new one from forge. This does not seem to be the case. Im now thinking its the actual turbo its self.. Any ideas ? Im sure there could be lots of causes such as d/v altho it is a forge one so should be fine. Turbo intake pipe ? Common on 1.8t but never heard of 1 going on a mk5.

The car idles fine and their is no noise. Only under acceleration does it wooo. The car has lost pretty much all power but no eml has flagged up!

Check the forge dv as its piston could be sticking if not properly lubricated.

Stock Zorst? I've had 2ndry cats collapsing on stock systems (no FC's etc?)
Zorst grows about 8 inch's when you rev the car stationary

If not cold be bust spindle but it would drive very bad when you tried to gun it if that was the case +
sound like a WRC car with no power

PS forge dv can stick but you'd get a rough idle etc

The cars running 370 bhp k04 converted. The exhaust is a blue flame full system. Its bad to drive and sounds like an eletric car but its not backfiring if thats what you mean by a wrc car ?
