Title: RCD310 question...

I'm a tad confused, brought a MK5 with an RCD310, all I know is its from a 2009 model, and mine is a 2004 model. When I turn the ignition, it doesn't automatically boot. What could be causing this?

does it work when you turn the head unit on?

does it turn off with the car?

maybe if its previously had an RNS510 or other head unit in previously and the previous owner has swaped it before selling it might be a loose wire possibly?

or could be a coding issue?

It works when I press the on button, but ONLY when ignition is turned or engine is on.
It turns off with the car yes.

Could be either, not sure.  :confused:
