Title: One thread with pictures of different spring types?
Post by: Matthew. on February 10, 2013, 11:21:52 am
Hi all,

Is there a single thread out there somewhere (tried searching "springs" and you can imagine how many results came back) showing all the different types of lowering springs used?

Ie What's the difference between Eibach Pro/Sportlines and H&R or VW Racing?

Pictures really are worth a thousand words ;)

Unfortunately not.

There are only two main types folk go for. Eibach or H&R (I had the latter)  :happy2:

Have a go with the search function and you will find plenty

Trouble is with the search function, unless I'm doing it wrong, it brings up key words as opposed to thread titles, it's information overload! Ha

Hmm not many pictures in that thread.

Anyone lowered on springs who fancies posting up a pic of their GTI?

Eibachs: http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,982.msg15099.html#msg15099

Eibach again: http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,2730.msg40860.html#msg40860

H&Rs are more expensive but sit a couple of mm lower than Eibach

I've got the Eibach Sportline springs on mine (standard shocks). My wheels are ET42 and I had very slight rubbing so removed the screw from each of the front arch liners to solve this.

No, I think they're ET51.

You won't have any problems with the Pescara's as they are 7.5" ET51 and Mandy's are (by the look of them) BBS VZ's 8" ET42 so hers will poke out by an extra 13mm IIRC.
