Title: Age Of Forum Members
Post by: Sel on February 10, 2013, 02:37:46 pm
Hi, it's just a thought I had what is the age of GTI owners on here I am 45 (46 in March), I'm thinking I might be pretty old for this forum, but how many young un's can afford to buy, run and insure a MK5 VW Golf GTI, I see lot's of younger one's in MK4's but obviously they are cheaper car's.

....That's the one, Mandy! You can grow old but you never want to grow up. Er, hang on, that applies to the boys.... Girls are already grown up and are much wiser at a much younger age than boys.

They (mostly women) say that a 25yo boy has only reached the same level of mental maturity as a 15yo girl!

BIG --- 40 ---
and just for the young pups my ins is £182 fully loaded / hire car etc etc etc
i argued with my ins company when they increased my policy from selling the mk4 which was £220 and put me up to £260 so they reduced it to what i told them i got online which was £182
i just made the price up lol
so mk4 102bhp = £220
and mk5 200bhp = £182
cheers Direct Line

It's a testament to how good this forum community is that folks might leave the VW/VAG stable but don't leave the forum.

Perhaps we'd get a better idea of the average age of memeber if this thread was made into a poll:

  • 18-21
  • 22-25
  • 26-30
  • 31-35
  • 36-40
etc...

Maybe we'll need a 60+ option to keep some members happy.  :P

45 but definitely feel like one of the elder gentlemen on here. With all these young pups about..

It's just a number though I reckon. Mental age is the important one and the real 'gauge'.

....I think he was probably being sarcastic but whether worst or best off-topic 'offender' I think it's fair to say that it contributes to the entertainment and often brings members joy and laughs. I don't set out to push a thread off-topic, I just go with the flow as one does in any discussion or conversation. Surely it would be very dull indeed if all threads were dry and so strictly on topic.

Anyway, it might be a condition which comes with age.

Half of what I say is meaningless, but I say it so that the other half may reach you.

27, and desperately trying to hold onto my youth. :ashamed:

....That's the one, Mandy! You can grow old but you never want to grow up. Er, hang on, that applies to the boys.... Girls are already grown up and are much wiser at a much younger age than boys.

They (mostly women) say that a 25yo boy has only reached the same level of mental maturity as a 15yo girl!

Funnily enough you're right, trouble is when women reaches 30 they stop and then returns to their teens while men keeps getting wiser all through their lifetime
