Having a few issues trying to get my Aux (in armrest) to work with my RNS510.
I have a MDI kit and bought a loom from Eddie to connect the MDI loom to the Aux socket. I've checked the wiring and it looks like its all wired up correctly.
I've enabled Aux-In in the RNS settings and played around with the volume (on both the RNS and device connected to Aux). I've even bought a new Aux socket from the dealers in case mine was faulty.
Not sure what else to try - or does something need to be coded? I haven't tried a different 3.5mm audio cable - so plan to buy another.
Any ideas? The MDI works fine so that loom appears ok.

when you add something to the aux socket is there anything connected to the mdi?
-
No nothing connected to the MDI
-
Eddie - do I need to code anything? Was hoping it was plug and play. Any other ideas what it could be?
-
sometimes it needs to be coded
does AUX-in show up on the top of the screen
-
Yeah AUX is showing on the top right of the media screen. When I press AUX the screen just says AUX on the display. I've tried all 3 input volume levels (in settings > media) and played with the volume on the phone.
Would the display show tracks / artists when connected?
-
it won't display track info
try a different jack lead
-
Yeah will do Eddie - hoping its that :happy2:

Just tried another 3.5mm cable which i use daily for my office speakers (so know is fine) - not working unfortunately :(
Any other ideas Eddie? :happy2:

Not sure what else to try here - unless there is an issue with the wiring / coding?
-
Have you rebooted the RNS510 after the coding etc?
-
Would reseting the RNS cause VIM to deactivate? Wasn't too sure on doing a factory reset!
-
There's a risk with everything you touch but it should be fine.
There's a few links on here on how to reset it, read them and see if your happy to proceed.
