I know theres threads about this but i couldnt find the answer i wanted so be patient :innocent:
I went to the stealers today to ask about retrofitting this, they said £127 fitted which i was keen for, however he said if the wiring isnt there itll be nearer £300 :surprised:
So basically, is there anyway of telling if the wiring is there without tearing everything apart?
If not, what do i take off and what do i look for?
Cheers guys :drinking:

I think EddieNL is the guy to be asking about this on here - he seems to have very good feedback on helping people with things just like this I believe
-
its after a certain year they put the wire there..know on mine 54plate the extra wire had to be put in but charging £300 :stupid:

you could be lucky if your car is a MY2006
where are you located?
-
its not as bad as you think..When Ed did mine i had already removed the wipes arms and scuttle panel..then feed a piece of wire from inside the car to the ecu ; Think it took an hour to do the job lot

Got my car in '05 with an '05 plate. Don't know if it had a wire or not, but VW charged me £167 all in to retro fit cruise last year.
-
Iv just bought a cruise stalk off vee-dubber, if the wire is already there in my car, do I just need to plug and play and then have someone activate in vcds?

If that's your vin code then you have the wire already installed?
My number plate is MT06. Make much difference Eddie?

If your vin says your car is a 2006 car then it will be ok
don't go by reg as some cars were not registered straight away
-
That's interesting I have a tdi in s spec and was told by vw it would be £300 even thou it is a 57 plate with a 08 build ...

If it helps when you look at the wiring unit under the steering column the wire you need for cruise is a single black and white wire. I have this on good authority :happy2:
My car is an 05 GTI and it had the wire. Thank f$*k for that. Golfman fitted mine.
