Hi guys, the car is due a full service and cambelt/waterpump in the next month or so.
Any recommendations on the best place to take it local-ish to Halifax?
Halifax Vw, Awesome GTI, or another specialist etc?
Any help would be greatly appreciated :happy2:

Best in Huddersfield bar none...
They did all the work on my Edition30 which included fitting of my sach's clutch,service,MK6 steering wheel retrofit, any coding this place can do if it's possible and just had my cam follower and service done last week. :happy2:

Call Huddersfield Vw for a price then call Lightclife Vw and just say they said less the will price match you might try Nissan/old skoda dealer as they still do Vw on site

Any experience of http://www.independantvolkswagenspecialist.co.uk ?
A friend highly rates them.

I had this exact work done last month at Statllers in Sheffield and can't rate them highly enough :happy2:
I'm from Saltaire so fairly near you with regard to distance travelled...

Another vote for Statllers :happy2:
Cheapest price I could find for Cambelt & Waterpump!
Make sure you ask for engine mount bolts too - these should ALWAYS be replaced when cam belt is replaced!

STATLLERS !!!!! :notworthy:

Ref the comment bout engine mount bolts, can u explain the reasoning behind this in a bit more detail? Ive got to get mind done in a couple of mths time at Statllers also, do they change these as par for the course so to speak, or have u to specifically ask for it?
Cheers!

Would agree with this, also check out seat fixed price servicing as it is cheaper than VW, print it off and take it into VW if you wish to stick with main dealer servicing.
I use White Rose VW at crosshills, so alittle further afield.

Where ever I do take it I'll either need a hire car or to wait there!

I've used them a few times, though not for anything major. Seem fairly competent though.
I'd avoid Huddersfield VW like the plague. They are fine for routine servicing but it took them nearly two months for their top technician to diagnose a faulty replacement N80 valve on my car.
There used to be a place called VW Technik in Huddersfield who seemed to have a good reputation - might be worth checking out.
