Do both the standard and Ed30 have the same fmic or is the ED30 like the S3?

I would imagine the ed30 is the same as std gti - you never see ed30 ones sold for a premium or mentioned as an enhancement to spec.

Well I bought some stainless steel jubilee clips, but the intercooler connections are made by some trick wire clips so I'm no further on really. The jubilee clips will come in handy, so no problem there though.

I was trying to prevent oil leaking onto the hoses, but although the clips felt a bit loose and allowed the hoses to twist and flex - they don't appear a very tight fit - no oil canm out of he drivers side one when I disconnected it from the intercooler.

Maybe I should just leave well alone!

Then if like the std. gti it will have insert connectors that have an o-ring on the inside and a goofy locking clip on the outer connection. The S3 would have a clamp around a hose - old school style.

Yep, it must be like the std gti. I'm trying to find out why its doing only 34mpg at a cruise controlled 50mph in 6th. Consumptions horrible at the mo. Cars going like stink though!

Likely going to be a failing MAF sensor. If you have vcds you could log the intake air mass to check. It won't trigger the ecl until complete failure, so data reading is the best check.

Hmm, no I have no vcds available. Any other way to check it out?

Tickover is fine, no power loss I can detect, just poor fuel consumption.
