Title: Strange power delivery!
Post by: Madman1886 on February 12, 2013, 03:57:08 pm
I seem to be having a bit of a problem with my 2008 GTI's power delivery. The cars got a stage 1 Revo map and when the car is in D (DSG) and you put the foot down, the car spools up fine till it changes gear, then there seems to be a flat spot where the power just drops away then comes back till it changes gear again ( feels like old fashioned turbo lag, as if the turbo is stalling) then it does it again. When the car was in manual mode it didn't happen. Now its started to do in manual as well, as soon as I flip the paddle, the power noticeably drops away then surges back. No engine lights are flashing up but I'm wondering if its the diverter valve playing up ( seems to be the cause of a lot of probs lol ) and if anyone else has experienced this and any idea's of what it could be. Any help would be greatly appreciated........ Gee

It doesn't sound like a DV fault. I would say it sounds more like a DSG fault converting the torque. Does your car have a DSG remap.  :happy2:

Should I get a DSG remap, would that solve the problem? ( to be honest I have been thinking about it lol ) :driver:
