Title: Did basic no options Edition 30's get just cloth?
Post by: reza_q on February 15, 2013, 10:31:50 pm
Hi chaps

Going to see one at a VW dealer.  Reflex silver, but the dealer is adamant that it has cloth and not half leather.

Everything I've searched is telling me they all came half leather???

Any ideas?  Any owners out there?

I have a punter on the Jetta.  As much as it pains me if the Golf is any good I may well go for it.

Cheers

Thanks man.  I think he was confused as he hadn't actually seen it and I think their system shows half leather as cloth?

Going to see on Sunday.  It's a 1 owner 07 reg is silver, basic spec but only 38K on it.

What's it worth as a minter?  Remember it is a VW main dealer so it will come with comprehensive warranty and I'll be paying a bit over the odds anyhow.

Cheers

Probably £3k+ overpriced if it is from a main dealer.

A VW Dealer open on a Sunday , thats new ??

As far as value is concerned , i would suggest add £1500 to the price from a VW Dealer for their profit , warranty and vat . Then i would say you should be paying around £11500

I'd take that as a blessing and spend your money elsewhere!

Hi chaps

Yep the saleman was going off the system details.  They have just got the car back from wheel refurbishment and I am booked in tomorrow to have a look at 10.30 when they open.

I was driving home this evening and couldn't wait so impatiently head over to the dealer.  I must have looked like a thief on their CCTV cameras!  10pm at night, industrial estate, red Honda ITR with a carbon bonnet and some dude in a beenie hat walking around their private forecourt, lol!

Anyhow, there she was, right on the edge!!  Must have been love at first site!  Reflex silver really really suits these!  Had a quick look around, don't like mismatching tyres; it has Continentals on the rear and Dunlops on the front.  I'll have a good look at the treads tomorrow and if a pair are short (quite likely) I'll want them to replace to match the other two.

It looks MINT!  I know it's dark etc but it is a 1 owner car on low mileage.  And yes, thank God it does have half leather trim in immaculate condition!

I think I'll have it, subject to me searching for bits wrong and trying to get a deal!

I'll take my licence and go out for a drive to see how different it feels to my Jetta TFSI.  If it's too similar then it might not be worth the extra money.

Didn't want a DSG either so am happy with a manual box.

I'll fill you guys in tomorrow......

I have to ask though if you have an ITR are you swapping or keeping?

ITR stays forever!

I have a chap interested in taking the Jetta TFSI.  I know I love it but if I can get almost my money back (minus mods of course) then it might be worth going for the Edition 30; being a sought after Golf it might hold up residuals better in the next few years against my Jetta.

Well I think we need to see pics of the ITR.
