Title: Assesment day & Interview
Post by: Mertyvw on February 16, 2013, 04:18:47 pm: Hi guys ive got an Assesment day with an Interview in two weeks at IBM in Warwick . And i was wondering if we got anyone on the forum that has a background in such companies and what i should expect .

Be moving around in different departments but for sure i am not doing software enginnering .my ideal role is more Techincal

Post by: keano on February 17, 2013, 07:52:55 pm: Hello mate. May or may not apply but I placed a couple of guys at an IT firm the other week. They were technical advisors.

The assessment day took the form of a group discussion where you may be marked on your problem solving, personality and contribution.

They were then set a 1hr written assessment, relevant to the job role. During which, they were pulled out twice to have a more formal interview with either the assessors/ hiring managers.

Like I say, it may vary, but this is the usual make up of an assessment day.

Don't worry about it, just be yourself and I'm sure you will sail through.

Having been through several Assessment Days I would practice competency based questions e.g. Describe a situation where you had to...

It was ok and i have juust found out that i have successfully passed the stage aswell :) and thanks for your link it was eru helpful indeed
