Hi chaps
So I went to see an Edition 30 on Sunday at my local VW dealer and I, err, bought it! Details are;
1 owner from new (retired old man)
Private 5 digit plate left on by owner
33K from new
Full VW service history from the same dealer that supplied it (the one I'm buying it from)
Standard Edition 30 spec including half leather, black headlining, electrics, climate, heated seats etc
Also has Sat Nav which was a surprise when I got there!
Unused rear seats
The drive was far, far tighter than my Jetta TFSI! Awesome bit of kit! And of course 1 years VW fully comprehensive warranty :jumping:
I'm a bit fussy with my cars so I negotiated the following;
6 months road tax
Rubber front and rear overmats (keep originals clean)
Wheel refurbishment
New wheel badges
Drivers side electric window switch removal and replacement (I didn't like the marks on it)
New Edition 30 rear valance supply, paint and fit (crack on original)
Cambelt, waterpump and tensioner change (overdue)
Body valet (I'll properly detail once I get it home)
Small dent removal from bonnet
Very happy! It's got some things which will take a week or so but I squeezed them as much as I could. Got a guy coming for the Jetta in the evening tomorrow so it's full steam ahead.
Plans include;
Refurb of wheels in anthracite eventually
Milltek non resonated cat back
Panel filter or EVOMS intake
APR stage 1 (305PS)

How you getting on with it compared to the RS turbo?

The RS was a different kind of beast mate.. stripped/caged and shouldnt have been on the road lol
The ED30 is very nice to drive though.. its stock at the moment so obviously isnt going to feel amazing... just started ordering some goodies tonight.. i had a 2007 S3 in the past so i know these engines are very capable when tuned

Can't believe so many low mileage ones have come up since I went looking for mine in Oct last year. Thought I'd done ok to find one in Steel grey with 47k through the VW network. Found it has more options on it than were ever advertised by VW :smiley:.
I wanted a manual - mine was on the VW site as a manual - HPI'd it, and came back as a S-A (DSG). Didn't really change my plans, as I went and looked at a Pirelli 5-dr manual first, then as that sales guy was a complete ijiot, I went on to see this one. Very impressed by the DSG - what's yours?
You did very well to get so much rectification work out of the dealer - I managed a full set of wheel refurbs (turned out they did face only), full service (probably would have happened anyway), and paint on a scuff on the rear valance.
I have similar plans, but trying to hold off on the remap until the brakes are sorted!!

It's a manual! I thought about a DSG but I recall our MK5 R32 had a DSG box which was OK......I just prefer manuals.
Yeah I went to town with the dealers - I just don't like car sales people, regardless of what suit they wear!
If they fail to rectify any of the bits I mentioned there won't be a sale, it's as simple as that....

No xenons on that one, has the stickers for driving in Europe on it though (anti glare jobbies).

Must admit Adam I didn't think it had xenons and was too excited to check!
Noticed the stickers on the headlights though....
Owner obviously picked sat nav, premium audio, MFSW but no xenons?! Lol

Same here! The previous owner of mine spec'd his well, but never went for the Xenon's! MFSW, tints, Sat Nav etc...
I fitted LED sidelights and MTEC H7 Super White bulbs. Looks nice and clean now.

Yep, I do like to give dealer excessive hell when I buy! It's only once I get talking they realise I'm not the conventional buyer.... :rolleye:

No Xenons but luckily does have the headlamp washers which means Xenon retrofit that much easier - just the self levelling bits to totally bring it to full Xenon spec!
