Post by: Pikey Motorsports on February 19, 2013, 11:08:40 pm
what do i need to do it to my ed30?

just this or a genuine one if this isnt no good?

This bumper is not genuine, & you may find it doesnt fit perfectly. But yes, this kind of part & an R32 exhaust. I do belive you would still need an exhause specialist to fit it, But this would be very cheap £20-£50

I wouldn't even want to hazard a guess on a new one. Second hand ones go for £250+ depending on condition. Just for referance the reflectors are around £20 so don't worry if their missing. But do find out prior to purchase if you can source them  :happy2:

hmm that would have been good but i have spent approx 4k on parts tonight for the golf so the timing is just wrong unfortunatley :(

when i do go ahead and do this would a milltek R32 backbox fit onto my existing milltek ed30 exhaust or would i need a custom backbox made?

cheers

I'm sorry if you mean an original milltek R32 backbox and not a R32 'style' back box then it won't fit i'm sorry to say.

Hi,that link I sent you from ebay has the R32 style rear exhaust with it so it's a bolt on to your existing Miltek centre section! So it's the complete set of part's required, you will have to respray the R32 bumper to the same colour of your car of course!

Here's mine fitted to my Edition30.

Sorry, haven't read this whole thread but, would an OEM R32 exhaust be compatible with the GTI once my OEM standard GTI exhaust has been removed?

As replied to above, the floor panel on the R32 is different due to the 4 wheel drive system and rear axle so the exhaust fitting point's are not the same..

Hi, I saw the link in your first post to the R32 rear bumper on eBay, that's the one that I bought for mine from the same seller and i can tell you that it's actually really good quality and was a perfect fit on my GTI, it looks exactly like the genuine R32 lower bumper and even has heat shields around the exhaust. The VW dealers actually thought it was an OEM part. I got a centre exit R32 style Milltek exhaust and everything went on fine. If I were you I'd buy that one on eBay from Carparthotdeal.
