Title: Steering Angle Sensor
Post by: Carson_A on February 20, 2013, 09:25:46 pm
Well lads,

Having a problem with getting the car through the mot at the minute. The car has the power steering light on the dashboard all the time. When plugged into the VAGCOM it is saying that the steering angle sensor needs to be reset. However, when we try to do the basic settings it "forgets" the basic settings about 3 seconds after.

I would like to clarify that the car has already had a new steering rack.

Has anyone had this problem and can shine a light on what the issue may be?

Thanks in advance!

Go for a short drive then pull up with the wheels straight then full lock to the left hold it there 5 seconds then full lock to the right for 5 seconds then set the wheels straight again and that should do it, if not try it afew times, steering angle sensor fault code can't be cleared with vagcom you have to do the full lock thing, I found this out at the weekend when I'd fitted cruise control.
