I cannot get this mod to work unless facing uphill,
ball joints all greased up,
installed correctly,
please only vote if YOU ACTUALLY HAVE THIS MOD
I know the mk6 rvc adds weight so that is the reason i have set the voting up in this way
feel free to add any comments, i am currently trying to see if any stronger rubber stoppers are out there, any help appreciated
Thanks
:happy2:
ps,, with the new struts in place and opening and closing the boot daily on my mk6 i gotta remember and shut the wifes mk4 boot a bit softer, nearly shattered the back window on a few occasions with the tail being sooo light :signLOL:

Worked more often on my GT with same hardware. The GTI spoiler maybe adds extra weight.
Not fully opening has always been an issue with this mod, especially in winter.
-
Works fine for me Scott, with Rvc and quite a few extra wires and aerial module also added to lid, in fact i've noticed its got much better over time as it would always work when hot and on any incline, in the cold it was hit and miss but its freezing at the mo and always flips up for me.

After I greased everything the other week, when the temps were higher, the mod worked great, now were having low singles again, it doesn't work at all.
To those that have this working even in these conditions, how many notches on the bump stops are you using?
-
thanks for the input guys interesting reading, hopefully with at least a few dozen votes etc it will be clearer regarding this mod

I fitted the boot pop to Banham's Gti
worked first time no problem, even without grease
I take it the scirocco bumpers have been released, so they spring back out when pushed in?

any ideas eddie if a different set of the rubber bumpers are available out there, im thinking something with more compression than the normal boot pop ones we have fitted, im not sure if the actual fitting to the car size is generic or differs from car to car.
i just cant get the thing to pop enough unless i am facing downhill, even slightly downhill wont work :ashamed:

Scott, are you using the scirocco poppers?
-
have they been released?
they should be around 50 - 60mm and compress to 30 - 40mm

is that what they are called lol, excuse my ignorance, either way they are faulty or just aint enough with the combined weight of the spoiler and the rvc, not sure if i should maybe order another set of them or try to find a diff stronger one that may fit ?
