Title: What Wheel Spacers for GT Sport?
Post by: wycombeant on February 21, 2013, 02:33:46 pm
Hi,

I'm new to the forum so hope im posting in the correct place

I have just bought a GT Sport.....pretty standard at the moment apart from lowered on Eibach Sportlines.

Can't afford wheels yet so was just going to space the standards for abit of stance til i get wheels at a later date.

With the drop what size spacers do i get? Also any particular make or ebay job?

Thanks in advance

Depends on the current ET of your standard wheels, assuming there stock probably ET 51?

H&R hubcentric spacers would be my recommendation 10mm for the front and 15mm for the rear  :happy2:

When I had my mk5 gt170 sport TDi I ran 15mm rear with 12mm front, on the 17" classix wheels, on eibach sportline springs.
It didn't catch, rub or cause any negative effects.
Wen I sold the car, 55,000 miles, they were still going strong. (Had the car from new)

Awesome, cheers mate  :happy2:

12mm on the front sounds good....was originally thinking 20mm on the rear but is that too much?

Need to start a project thread to be honest

20mm is too much,  it'll catch the arches.

If you search though my bound thread post on my old car, I think there is a side shot so you can see how much space is/isn't left running the 15mm spacers

Hope it helps

Tom

Hi buddy.
20mm will be fine to be honest.. you want to use bolt-on spacers rather than bolt-through ideally.. just seems nicer and easier and more secure in my mind.
I have 17x7.5 et 36 at the back and could probably get 30mm spacers on if I really wanted.. never caught even at my ride height.
They are originally 17x7.5 et56 to which I have bolted 20MM H&R spacers.

If you want the flush look ET31 is about perfect on a 7.5 to be honest :D
