Incredible future valve technology at Koenigsegg. I love the Drive videos.

my favourite hypercar
i wish they'd bought SAAB if this is what could have been

Clever stuff, but I believe the tech has been around since the 80s in F1 (Renault came up with the idea of pneumatic valve springs when they introduced their turbo engine) and MotoGP bikes use them, too.
Seems to be a good idea for road cars, though. More power, more torque, better fuel economy, lower emissions and a lighter engine, what's not to like!

Motorbikes use this sorta stuff as said. My engine builder does alot of superbikes engines and he was telling me how car engine technology is 30 or so years behind that of bikes.
-
Yes, but this is in use, retrofitted to a normal road car. :happy2: An impressive task.
I would recommend everyone watching the entire series of Koenigsegg videos from the team at Drive. Really are impressive.

Amazing. Someone at work was telling me about this. Wansnt there an engine SAAB produced something like a 1.2 but with the power of of a 2litre about 10+ years ago????

This is awesome. When can we have it in our MK5's?
