I've got a rattle/buzzing coming from the dash top mounted vent in my car pretty much constantly when driving. It's driving me insane! I've taken the top 'mesh' plastic section out and packed around the edges with sound deadening material but it still rattles. I'm thinking it's the flat plastic bit below the mesh section that is causing is but i'm not sure how to remove it? I can see one torx style screw, but does it then pull out? Need to sort this ASAP!!

Have a rattle in there too. annoying little thing that.
Also have one coming from the back, it's as if the back door boot is not shuting right????
annoying thing that too., I have to turn the music up to block it out, :signLOL:

More common the rear seats have not been fitted back into the catch correctly - open them and reset them back into the catch - try that first quick repair!
-
Yes mate tried that, had someone sitting in the back trying all sorts for me lol... but the only thing we assume to be left is the door???????
it is like a clinking sound, i thought it was my seats as thats what it sounded like, but have them rulled out...
-
Open the door slightly when driving (using a third party) and see if that cures it first - easiest first (worn latch).
If that doesn't cure it then take the door card off.
-
Ref the rattle coming from the back, have you got an aftermarket exhaust fitted by any chance??

Funny Thats what it sounds like the door latch... Would that mean a new latch or maybe just adjust it ?

Yes i have a mille on, but it deffo seems to be on the inside. the exhaust has to come of here pretty soon, so i will be checking it, what you thinking maybe a worn rubber mount???
thanks guys for the help and heads up on this... as we all know rattles do our heads in. and i would be one to try and have everything perfect well as perfect as can be.... :happy2:

well i have a BCS, although my rattle only arose when engine was warn, and yes, it did sound like the boot wasnt closed properly! Had the exhaust adjusted, just down from where it meets the turbo, i think they actually lengthened it by all accts, only about a half inch, and heh presto, rattle stopped (touching wood!!)!!

Thanks for that Gigolo, I will look into that tomorrow, and report back...

Check your boot latch in the tail gate is not loose. You can grab it and waggle it to find out.
Mine had come loose just aftet I bought the car and rattled over speed bumps. Easy to fix just tighten bolts under plastic boot cover either side of the latch.
