Don't want to be negative here, but wait till you try to sell your plate, iv'e had mine up for sale for over 6 month and no interest, I only want to change from a F to a P cos my name is Paul, the rest of the plate is the same.

Yeah as said above selling plates is a very long process

A mate of mine sells them as a bit of a money maker on the side and he says its slow money most the time

My Dad bought one about 7 years ago for £250, requested a quote from newreg.com, they came back with £1800!  He didn't buy it for that though and is keeping it.  Still shows if your willing to wait and can get a good deal, then it's better than keeping it in the bank, which would've made about £50!

My ideal plate is not allowed in the UK because of the word man in it.

Would love

MO55 MAN

Or

M055 MAN

but can't have man on mainland. Rubbish.

Plate values are sentimental mostly. As people say before the valuation means nothing unless you have someone willing to purchase it off you.

I have one from my first Golf Gti which has been with me a few years and now quite happy to ofload if anyone wants to buy for £500? or i will give it to a family member in a year once the rentention runs out.

The registration is XIA 237 - PM me if anyone wants it.

But they advertise it for that , they would get about £1300-1400 and then they take nearly half as commission , so not that great  :innocent:
