Title: Grey Edition 30 DSG
Post by: Waynevr6 on February 24, 2013, 05:27:02 pm
Hopefully below are some pictures of my Edition 30, I bought the car in late January 2013 from Arnold Clark in Birmingham after looking for a one in grey to the spec I wanted for a while. The only thing that it didnt come with which I wanted was xenons but they could always be added at a later date.

Spec:-

Grey 3dr
DSG
Autolights/Wipers
Headlamp washers
MFSW/Highline clocks
Armrest

Since I bought it I have done few little bits, nothing to serious yet.

Mods:-

ECS Heater rings
GTI seat badges
New Polo aerial
Forge polished fuel cap cover
LED number plate bulbs
Red GTI grill badge

Future mods:-

Stainless exhaust, cat back to start with, downpipe to follow.
Intake
Porsche oil & coolant caps
R32 bonnet lifter
Remap when everything else is done
19'' ABT split rims
Coilovers

So after all my waffling hopefully the pictures are below!!!

Thanks for the comments chaps, just bought an intake off skard and an exhaust off another member so they should be on in a couple of weeks.

It was meant to be a weekend car but I've already clocked up 1500 miles since I've owned it.

Compliments on your car! :happy2:  I've just put a deposit on a '58 plate example in the same colour......  Looking forward to collecting it next weekend.

When you get around to changing your wheels - I'd be interested in taking your Pescara's off you.....   Please give me a shout.....

Happy motoring, Cheers JT

They will be coming up for sale in the next month, I will drop you a pm when the time comes. They are in need of a refurb but the price will reflect that.

It from forge, I don't know if they still make them. I think it was round £30 and it just fits over the original.

The best color (IMO) for an ED 30! :ashamed:
Really really nice car! And the plans sound very nice so good luck!

Many thanks for all the comments, I've got the cat back exhaust and the intake so just on with polishing the exhaust so both can be fitted at the weekend.

That looks great - reminds me that I must wash mine, as it's a great colour!

Some nice tweeks you have planned too - which exhaust have you gone for? Interested to hear what you think when it's compared to the standard mk5 exhaust, as I'm tempted.

IMHO, Mk5 exhaust note seems to be very deep / sporty at low revs, and then quieter (mostly engine noise) higher in the rev range. Perhaps I'm still used to my old mkiv with full milltek which was both nicely burbly at low revs, and then suitably throaty at high revs.

PS - Pardon me if not, did you have a supercharged black 4mo mkiv in the past?

I don't honestly know the make of exhaust but it is full stainless, I bought it off some one on here.

I didn't own a supercharged 4mo sorry, would love to have a drive of one though.
