Title: All hail the Rainex
Post by: keith on July 19, 2009, 11:19:10 pm
Cleaning the car last week and the missus asked me to stick some rainex on as I hadn't done so this year.
One clay and wash later i added one coat of Rainex and i thought why have i stopped using this stuff its ace, took a trip down to Gretna today and some downpours on the way it just beaded off :happy2: no need for the wipers so i got some weird looks from other drivers overtaking me. A lot of folk dont rate this stuff but in my experience 10/10.

I love it too but it does make the windows a bit 'sticky' when your cleaning the car!  :chicken:

i really rate the stuff but not on the windscreen, after a short time i found i was getting a white film for a few seconds after the wipers were used.

I use DoDo redmist on my glass now... it's way better than rain-x.... and the best bit, you can use it as a top up LSP on your paint too.... lovely beadage :D

....Good tip, Jamie :happy2: - I've got some DoDo Red Mist but haven't used it on anything yet. It was going to be my next quick detailer when my Megs runs out soon. The Megs glass cleaner isn't very good imo.

What's "LSP" please?

P.S. - You at The Combe on Saturday?

Robin - LSP is a "Last Step Product" i.e. a wax, sealent etc

omg the only thing you need is this:

Gtechniq G1 - Wiper Proof Glass Nano Coat

http://www.gtechniq.com/uplerds/gtechprices.pdf

&feature=related

I've had it on for over a year and don't even use my wipers over 65MPH anymore - it's the best stuff ever!

last approx 30,000 miles/2years - bargain!

I have a few of their other items - all are just spot on!

Needs to be used with their towel mate. I dont like it without the megs fast glass towel either!
