Title: Airbag light help
Post by: Pikey Motorsports on March 01, 2013, 06:51:17 pm
had ago at taking my parrot hands free out this afternoon took all the facia around the headunit off the headunit itself out and the section above the headunit with the heaters airbag light off section and hazard light button off..

since doing this i have triggered the airbag light off on the dials?? presumably something to do with disconnecting the passenger airbag off warning light? and not disconnecting the battery first.. grrr

i have tryed disconnecting the battery since and taking the car for a drive but it hasnt cleared

any ideals guess i will need to have the car plugged into to clear it? or should it clear with a good drive?

Cheers

You don't need to disconnect that switch for removing the stereo, and yep you need it scanned to clear the fault, sorry to say.

I got a can fault code reader off eBay when I set mine off doing exactly the same thing. It only cost about a tenner and sorted the problem :happy2:

...sadly I've set my airbag light off again taking my instruments out and now my reader doesn't want to connect any more.... The joys of tinkering eh!
